Visitor Guidelines

Note: The entire northern unit, consisting of Ferry Bluff and Cactus Bluff, is closed to all entry from December 1 to March 31 to protect roosting bald eagles. 

 

 

The Great Sauk State Trail passes through the Villages of Sauk City & Prairie du Sac, and the Town of Prairie du Sac, continuing through the Sauk Prairie Recreation area.  

Trail passes are required and available locally.   To find out how to purchase your pass locally, call (area code 608):

The Farm/Art DTour returns in 2024!

The DTour is a 50-mile self-guided drive through Sauk County celebrating culture, agriculture and landscapes. This year a portion of the DTour will be in the Town of Prairie du Sac. Working farmlands will contain artworks, performances, roadside poetry, local food markets and more.
