,.Road News and Road Work

2026

Road projects for 2026 include:

  • Continue to repair areas which received storm damage.
  • Hot oil, dark granite, chip seal on Richolson, Zander and Lorena Roads the second or 3rd week of June
  • Crackfill several roads during late summer or early fall.
  • Posting Old Bluff Trail, River Road and Pine Meadow Rd as Class B Roads/Highways.

Ongoing maintenance:

  • Patching, shouldering and graveling of various roads continues
  • In an effort to improve travel sight lines and help ensure school buses, trucks, tractors; maintenance, utility & emergency vehicles can safely travel the roads, the removal of brush and limbs in the road right-of-way continues this year
    • The road right-of-way extends past the paved portion of the road.  Most road right-of-ways can be determined by measuring 33 feet from the center line of the road.  In some cases, it is found on a CSM as dedicated to a municipality.
    • Please do not place objects in the right-of-way, or in or near culverts (within the right of way), that may hinder snow removal, mowing operations, or drainage.

TOWN-OF-PRAIRIE-DU-SAC-ROAD-INSPECTION-DATES-2026

March 16 snow event follow up:  The road clearing crews worked hard to help ensure that those who must go out (Police, Fire, Alliant, Medical Personal, Repairpersons, etc) were able to get to work and help us all. They continue to work to ensure our youth can get to school; and others can get to work, appointments and attend to other matters, that goods can reach the stores.  Thank you snowplow drivers!  There are also businesses and agencies are that involved with snow clearing activities, repairing service lines, etc.   Thank you one and all.

2025

  • Exchange Rd & Block Rd were chip seal-coated over 1 or 2 days. The Town contracted with Scott Construction for this work.
  • Skunk Valley Rd between Highway O and Fuchs Road was chip sealed as well.  This road is also in the Town of Troy. Fahrner Asphalt did the work on this road.

Will a Fire Truck (or other emergency vehicle) Fit Down My Driveway?

The above graphic has some great points to consider.  The Town suggests at least a 16 foot width (8 ft or more from the centerline of your driveway) area cleared of branches and obstructions, and a 14 foot overhead clearance.  (also provide adequate space for the emergency vehicle to turn around and exit the drive)
